Women Lifting the Way

womensAugust is Women’s month – a time to celebrate the phenomenal contribution that women make to ensuring that we live in a functional society. This contribution is way too often overlooked or taken for granted.

A Square Forklift highly values the ladies who grace their workplace. They would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the tireless commitment and dedication from the ladies to the continued success of the company. The A Square team boasts 19 of the most accomplished female staff around. Their roles do not consist of only the stereotypical administrative functions in the workplace, but extend to service control, operations and parts – in fact 75% of the Parts team comprises women – including the manager and supervisor!

This drive is lead by strong female managers who have a combined length of service in excess of 40 years. This experience and continued commitment can not be downplayed. Continuity of functions at all levels is critical to any business, even more so in terms of management. 50% of A Square’s entire management team is made up of woman – which bears witness to the tight and efficient controls which exists within the business. The best example of this is Mrs Monica Jaconi, A Square’s first employee, who grew with the business and today holds the senior management role of Operations Manager – 17 years on … and counting!

A Square regularly has ‘ladies training’ sessions which involves orientation of forklifts. The entire team of ladies is exposed, hands on, to their range of products, which include Japanese Mitsubishi and Nichiyu Electric Forklifts, as well as Aisle Master articulated forklifts from Ireland. The ladies are made aware of what equipment is best suited to which applications, basic functioning, as well as all features and benefits. This extends even to the administration and accounts departments where daily functions do not require this knowledge, but a passion for the products and service offerings helps to foster a deep sense of inclusiveness and a sense that they’re all on the same team.

So, to the women that shape our world in general, and A Square Forklift in particular, we thank you and salute you!
